UFC 119 Thoughts

Well i did enjoy it i must say but enjoying the under card fights and not so much the main card is quite new to me, Sean Sherk vs Evan Dunham was a brilliant fight,liked that a lot,guillard vs Stephens was predictable,was kinda hoping for a big KO from Stephens but he lacked pace in his shots,Serra vs Lyttle was always going to be entertaining,Lyttle cant be in a boring fight.Now the main event and co man event were non entities,Dana White obviously agrees with me as he didn't give mir the KO of the night award and seeing as it was the only KO its a little weird,But deserved,these two lacked aggression for the entire fight until the last few seconds when Mir caught cro cop with a big knee ending the fight,lets hope that the UK's dull fight card exceeds expectations in a couple of weeks otherwise they will start to lose fans.

Chael Sonnen has dissapointed me!!!

So it appears that Chael Sonnen is not the unlucky contender we thought he was,his destruction of the p4p best in Anderson Silva for 4 and a half rounds was not through natural talent it seems but more likely through performance enhancing drugs that were able to give him the ability to unleash a relentless pace that even Silva could not keep up with.I like most people were willing him on and marveling at his incredible endurance but it seems it was down to the drugs,It seems a ban is imminent and i would like to see him put into the middle of the middleweight pack rather than at the top,then hopefully he can work his way up and beat the p4p best without performance enhancing drugs.

Ufc 119

Not sure what to make of the line up for 119,usually pretty excited for a ufc event but im not sure with this one,I like watching Mir but Cro Cop doesnt excite me the way he should,although i am a bit more interested in seeing Bader vs Nog,i think Bader is underestimated and is a force to be reckoned with,he is still realtively new but still effectively ended Keith Jardins Ufc career with one big right hand.I think Bader has it via tko in the second and Mir defeats crocop via submission in the first.Let us see what unravels.

Fight night Sucess

Well i was quite surprised by fight night,what a good night of fights,quite impressed with the new kid on the block Charles Oliviera and his brilliant submission win over the ever improving Efrain Escudero and also loved seeing Nate The Great do his thing,cant believe that Palhares tried to blame greasy legs for him slipping out of that heel hook,no he had just warmed up and got a sweat on and beat you at your game my friend,Never lose your focus big guy.!!!

Gsp Vs Koscheck

Wont that be funny when mr popular goes up against mr dickhead!!!,the roof is going to raise the first time Gsp stuffs a take down or puts koscheck on his head,cant wait to see it,im hoping that Gso scores a spectacular ko!!!

Bad news for Uk fans

Bad news on the horizon for UK fans,the new series of the ultimate fighter is being shown on sky sports,which isn't that bad in itself but this means that Dana White is getting closer to using sky to do pay per views which means that not only will you need to pay to have access to sky sports but then you will have to pay upwards of £12 for a ufc card which means that if like me you will only have sky sports for mma then you will be paying £30 a month for ufc cards,One thing i will say is SCREW that!!!Dana i love you but sometime you go to far,this will push UK fans away.

Todd Duffee Released?

According to news reports flying around today Heavyweight prospect Todd Duffee has been released from the ufc,Duffee who owns the fastest ko record for a 7second ko of Tim Hague went on to lose a fight that he was winning most of until a flash ko has apparently been branded difficult to deal with by Dana White and has been let go,I would imagine strikeforce is the natural place to go and would imagine he could do well there.
